On the morning of November 10th, at the invitation of Professor Xu Yan, Party Secretary of our hospital and Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Research Center for Oral Translational Medicine, renowned scholar Professor Chen Xiaodong from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, visited our hospital for academic exchange. He delivered a special lecture as part of the "Innovation and Translation in Stomatology" series, a key event celebrating the hospital's 50th anniversary. The lecture was attended by experts and scholars including Professor Hu Benhui, Vice Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics at Nanjing Medical University, and Professor Yuan Hua, Vice President of our hospital, along with representatives of young faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students. The event was hosted by Vice President Yuan Hua.
Vice President Yuan Hua extended a warm welcome to Professor Chen Xiaodong and his accompanying experts and briefly outlined the event agenda. Subsequently, Professor Chen delivered an insightful lecture titled "Digital–Physicochemical Interfaces for Telemedicine." During his presentation, Professor Chen explored cutting-edge research concepts and technologies through multiple research examples. He provided a critical analysis of the key challenges and potential opportunities currently facing the field of medical-engineering integration. Illustrating with the latest research progress from his own team, he demonstrated how innovations in digital technology and physicochemical interfaces can advance the development of telemedicine. His talk sparked profound reflection among the attendees on the future convergence of medicine and engineering.

During the Q&A session, faculty and students actively participated, engaging in a lively discussion on frontier issues in telemedicine, digital technology, and physicochemical interfaces. Professor Chen offered valuable guidance in response to diverse academic viewpoints and encouraged everyone to pursue continuous innovation in future research, exploring more opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
During his visit, Professor Chen toured our hospital's Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Stomatology, the Digital Virtual Simulation Teaching Platform, and the Engineering Research Center for Oral Translational Medicine. Professor Chen spoke highly of the hospital's parallel development in teaching and research. He engaged in in-depth discussions with our faculty on teaching management philosophies, sharing valuable insights from his experience in academic administration and teaching models.

This event fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange, further promoting the integrated and innovative development of stomatology and engineering disciplines. It also provided young scholars with cutting-edge academic guidance and inspiration.
